Wedding photography at Suffolk Barn, The Lodge on Loch Lomond, The Asylum Chapel, Lanwades Hall and The Manor Barn. The start of the 2023 reviews
So, as a wedding photography business, 2023 was rather incredible. Every year is amazing, every wedding I photograph is amazing, that goes without saying. But even as part of it, every year I see wedding photography evolving, getting better, weddings becoming more diverse, the wedding venues becoming more unique and the wedding suppliers adapting, evolving and going more and more out of the way to accommodate these incredible weddings.
And the couples? I love them! I don’t think one of my weddings this year went down the “traditional” route. Every wedding I shot wanted me to capture their wedding for it’s difference, uniqueness and as a wedding photographer, this couldn’t be more brilliant. I have worked with some amazing wedding venues, I have worked with some incredible wedding suppliers….some I know well and have worked with before, some I met for the first time and had a whale of a time with and can’t wait to work with them again.
My couples? Oh boy……every one of my couples this year have been legends! The fun, the laughs, the emotion at the wedding ceremony and wedding speeches, the inclusion, the diversity…..it’s life affirming.
And boy did they look good too! We have had vintage wedding dresses, we have had bespoke suits, we have had boho wedding dresses, we have had completely alternative wedding dresses (completely black anyone? Yeah baby!). We had tails for the boys, we have had bespoke dresses for the ladies. We have had trouser suits for the ladies, we have had trainers and jeans for the grooms. You name it, we have had it and it just adds to the whole experience.
Here’s a quick overview of the first five weddings I did in 2023 and a big shout out to the venues and suppliers. They deserve it.
